Why stretching should be done after every workout

Thought I'd send this quick post cause after my intense workout this AM, I had to quickly have a shower, eat and head out. Therefore I didn't have enough time to stretch, so upon getting out of the car my lower back seized up.
I've since had to lay down and do some light stretches.
Stretching after every workout regardless of the intensity is important because if you don't, injury can easily occur.
Benefits for stretching:
Stretching increases flexibility
Stretching improves range of motion of your joints.
Improves blood circulation and posture.

OK, work with intensity, but do use proper form when lifting and stretch, stretch those major muscles, quads, lower and upper back and arms.

I think I'm going to go and soak in the hot tub, and then the steam room...maybe it will help.

Here. here. I SECOND THIS POST!!!

I'll add: If you feel the twinge or soreness in a muscle or joint immediately following your workout ICE it.

If you feel it after a rest, then heat is best.
